Ohhhhh the Holidays.

Being my own travel agent is hard.  I don't want to count the number of sites I've ping-ponged between trying to find a cheap/convenient/manageable flight for New Years in Green Bay.
I found out that the teeny tiny airport in Springfield only flies to southern cities.. and the next biggest airport is in St. Louis.
I should tell you that my car can't make it the 3 hours there and back so that options out...unless I take a Grey Hound.
If I took the Grey Hound I'd be a single white girl on a bus full of what I have observed from the one other time I rode one: creepy men who stare, black gangsters, and women with receding hairlines.  All of which I found extremely creepy at 5 o'clock in the morning...the time I would need to be on the bus to make it to St. Louis in time to catch a connecting flight to Chicago where hopefully the weather will be ok for a landing so I don't get stuck in the O'Hare so I don't miss my connecting flight to Green Bay so I can make it in time for a New Year's party so I can finally kiss my boyfriend at midnight! Ahhhh!!!
That's been one of my big dreams since I was, I don't know, 15?!  Hopeless Romantic? Check.
Last year we were in the same situation. Both of us were on school breaks and in our respective home states.  Missing that kiss was one of the saddest nights of that season.  It truly stunk to know that every happy couple was kissing at the 12th chime in all the different time zones. Except us.
RAWR!
See my frustration?  I roared.

Anyway, it's been a lot on my mind.  So I'm taking a break from that.

Work was crazy today and I am utterly exhausted.  I had a store meeting from 8 to 10am and then worked my normal shift from then until 3:30pm.  I didn't actually leave the loud, hustling-bustling mall until 6.  It was a long day.
And I get to do the same thing again tomorrow.  Be at the mall at a little before 8.  Drive to Branson for  Jewelery Consultant Training until 4-ish.  Drive Back.

Go Home.
Die.

Happy Weekend to ME!

...I forgot my FTD (Favorite Thing of the Day)
I got a really great hair cut.

Nov 2...'Twas a Good Day

Current listening to: Owl City, Hello Seattle.  Good tunes.

Today was an all-round good day.  I don't know if it would be fair to divulge my Absolute favorite thing...it's still kinda supposed to be a surprise for me, but I promise to blog about it later. *pinkie promises with all her might*

I'll just give a quick run through of all the good things that happened today. In list form with no particular order. It's easier for me ;P
-I was able to spend lots of time with my Steve.  Lots of hugs always make a day better
-I took my time getting ready and listened to my 'happy tunes'
-I went to the mall early to window shop but ended up with super awesome deals and great looking new work clothes
-I worked with Renee and had lots of funny conversations all night
-I tactfully diffused a tense situation with a grumpy customer and got complimented by other customers
-I came home and tried on all my new things
And my FAVORITE thing...
-I was totally surprised by my boyfriend and impressed at his sneakiness/awesome taste :)

This hasn't quite been the blog-y feeling I was going for...it feels to me like a diary entry. hm.
I'll correct that tomorrow.  Maybe the favorite things of the day can be an addition to a blog with more substance.  I have lots of things to consider.
Peace Out Porcupines!

Favorite Thing of the Day! [Dos]

Hitting the New Post button made me smile.  Off we go on another adventure :)

I have to write fast to post this before it's tomorrow! Eeps!  okok

Favorite Thing of the Day: November 1st 2010.
Today was the first day at work for a new employee...a sweet heart of an elderly lady named Cleta.
She has worked in jewelery before but needs to get used to our antiquated computer system and our constantly changing sales numbers so it was my duty today to show her the ropes.  I can't remember when I've had a more enjoyable shift.

Cleta made my whole day.

She told me darling little stories about employees who used to work at our same store, told anecdotes, and looked positively adorable in her matching navy skirt suit and pearl necklace/earring set.
We went around the store doing easy odd jobs just to make her first-day-at-work butterflies go away and all the while she had the biggest smile on her face.
I can't wait to work with her again.  I'm positive she'll make the Holiday Hectics  (retail slang) pass by pleasantly.
At the end of my shift she still had a few more hours to work so I wished her a good rest-of-the-first-day and said I was looking forward to working with her again.  That's when Cleta's cuteness reached maximum limit.  She told me I was a 'comfort' to work with and she had never had a more 'charming' first day.
*dies from the cute factor and ultra-great compliments*

Thank you Cleta, for a positively pleasant work day. I'm looking forward to many more.

Post Script..
When I grow up and get cute and old I want to talk and dress like Cleta.
